Mary Zahner

With her B.A., M.S. and Ph.D. in Psychology (the latter two from St. Louis University), Mary Zahner has worked as a management consultant for almost thirty years.  For the last fifteen years she has been a Senior Consultant for CMA, a forty-five year old management consulting firm located in St. Louis.  Most of her work consists of helping client organizations (ranging from small companies to multi-billion dollar companies) evaluate and develop their internal and external candidates for high level managerial and professional positions.  She has worked with such clients as Hanesbrands, Sara Lee, Edward Jones, SSM Healthcare and Anheuser Busch. She has also been involved in strategic planning and organizational efforts with several clients.

In the past, Mary served as a member of the advisory board for St. Louis University’s ‘Women in Leadership’ program, and taught graduate courses in the university’s School of Business Administration.  In addition, she is a past president of Gateway Industrial Organizational Psychologists, and has been on the Board of Directors for the national organization Society for Psychologists in Management.

Mary and her husband are currently full-time permanent residents of Rosemary Beach.  They were the first to build a carriage house at Rosemary Beach in 1997.  In 2008 they relocated full-time to their home in Rosemary Beach, and have been active members of the community ever since.  While Mary continues to stay busy as a consultant with CMA, she makes room for volunteer work (e.g., at Emerald Coast Middle School) and other pursuits.

Mary has a great appreciation for art, and is an enthusiastic art quilter.  Her fabric art has been accepted and displayed in international shows.  Her love of art is a ‘family affair’ as her 88 year old mother in the Midwest is an award winning oil painter and her family has a hundred year old business (A. Zahner) in Kansas City specializing in the use of high quality metal and glass used in art and architecture.  A. Zahner has partnered with such architects as Frank Gehry in high profile architecture projects around the world.
